Mysore/Mysuru: Surabhi Ganakala Mandira, Mysuru, is presenting the 4th concert of its new series ‘Yuva Sourabha’ at Ganabharathi’s Veene Seshanna Bhavan in Kuvempunagar on Oct. 18 at 5.30 pm.
It features a vocal concert of Karnatak Classical Music by Vid. R. Raghuram from Bengaluru, accompanied by Vid. Keshav Mohankumar on violin, Vid. Anoor Vinod Shyam on mridanga and Vid. Sumukh Karanth on kanjira.
The renowned mridanga artiste, Vid. H.L. Shivashankara Swamy will be the guest of honour.
Profiles: Vid. R. Raghuram is the son of the famous mridanga artiste, late Vid. R.A. Rajagopalan and the disciple of Vid. R.A. Ramamani and Vid. T.A.S. Mani. He has performed extensively across the country and abroad. He also gives vocal support for dance recitals of well-known dancers like Vid. Nirupama Rajendra and Vid. Kiran Subrahmanyam.
Vid. Keshav Mohankumar is the disciple of the great Violin Guru, Vid. H.K. Narasimhamurthy. An ‘A’ grade artiste of All India Radio (AIR), Keshav has accompanied many stalwarts, on violin.
Vid. Anoor Vinod Shyam, the son and disciple of Vid. Anoor Anantha Krishna Sharma, is one of the much sought-after mridanga artistes of the younger generation. He is also an ‘A’ grade artiste of AIR.
Vid. Sumukh Karanth has learnt kanjira under the tutelage of Vid. Kunjur H. Ravikumar. A ‘B-high’ grade artiste, Sumukh has won the first prize at the National-level music competition conducted by AIR.
