Mysuru: Surabhi Gana Kala Mandira, Mysuru, is celebrating its 30th anniversary on Oct. 27 and 28.
There will be a classical music concert by Vid. Vinay Sharva of Bengaluru at 6.30 pm on Friday at Nadabrahma auditorium, JLB Road. Prior to this, at 5.30 pm, two CDs “Hariyannarasida Vanitheyaru” comprising songs written by women composers of Karnataka, will be released. The songs are tuned by Vidu. Dr. Sukanya Prabhakar and presented by her students.
Dr. R.V. Raghavendra of ‘Ananya,’ Bengaluru and Vid. Dr. R.S. Nandakumar of Mysuru, will be the chief guests.
On Saturday, a special musical feature, “Nannolage Neevu, Nimmadidaavareyalli Naanu” will be presented after the release of two books, “Murali Naada Vaibhava” and “Shiva para Kruthis of Muttuswamy Dikshitar” at 5.30 pm at Jaganmohan Palace auditorium. At 7.30 pm, there will be a Bharatanatya recital by Vidu. Ashwini Sukirthi and Kathak dance by Vidu. Aparna Shashank.
Dr. Ramaa Bennur and Vidu. Neeraja Achyutha Rao will be the guests of honour. Art patron K.V. Murthy will preside both day events, according to a press release from Dr. Sukanya Prabhakar of Surabhi Gana Kala Mandira.
