Mysore/Mysuru: The sleuths of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB), have trapped a land surveyor while accepting bribe to do a land survey work.
The arrested is Hanumantharaya, a Surveyor at Mysuru Taluk Office.
Details: One P. Harish Alva, owner of one acre and 11 gunta land at Survey No. 137/1 at Byathahalli village in Jayapura hobli, wanted a separate podi for 11 gunta land and had instructed Manjunath Aradhya of Mahadevapura in J.P. Nagar to get it done.
Manjunath, who came to the Taluk Office at Mini Vidhana Soudha, met Surveyor Hanumantharaya, who demanded Rs. 10,000 for the work.
Again on Dec. 31, Hanumantharaya called Manjunath and demanded Rs. 8,000 to get the work done, following which a complaint was lodged at the ACB Police Station.
The ACB Police, after registering a case in this regard, decided to trap the Surveyor and on Jan. 4 trapped Surveyor Hanumantharaya while he was accepting the bribe.
ACB SP (South Zone) Dr. Suman D. Pennekar and Dy.SP Parashuramappa supervised Inspectors A. Karim Rowther and K.S. Niranjan and staff in the operation.
