Mysore/Mysuru: Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji released Sanskrit Scholar H.V. Nagaraja Rao’s work titled ‘Shataalankara Krishnashataka Mattu Shardoola Vikreedita Shataka Sthotra’ and writer D. Sheela Kumari’s work titled ‘Aidu natakagalu’ at a programme organised at State Bank of Mysore Colony along the Ring Road here recently.
The Seer also inaugurated the ‘Charu Samskrutika Pratishtana’ building on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Suttur Seer said that increase of knowledge and culture is more important than acquiring jewellery on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya. Lauding Charu Pratishtana for promoting Indian culture and art, the Seer observed that follies and greed of leaders were responsible for wars such as the ongoing battle between Russia and Ukraine. He argued for building a human bond between communities.
Former Joint Director of Collegiate Education Prof. T.N. Prabhakar said that Prof. Nagaraja Rao is a nationally famed scholar who has lucidly explained Sanskrit Shlokas in Kannada in his book.
Maintaining that the book provides an easy reading, he said that writing is a diehard habit of poets. Writers have a responsibility of making people read and realise the truth, he added.
Karnataka Sahitya Academy Chairman Dr. B.V. Vasanthkumar spoke about writer Sheela Kumari’s work ‘Aidu natakagalu.’ Music Director Srinivas Bhat (Cheeni) presented a Rangageethe on the occasion.
