Mysore/Mysuru: Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM), in association with L&T Technology Services Limited has set up a 19-bed COVID care facility at Saragur.
Addressing a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan here this morning, SVYM Chief Executive Officer (CEO) G. Kumar Suryanarayana said, “A new rural COVID care facility with 19-oxygenated beds has been set-up in a record time of 12 days in Saragur town. This new addition further strengthens the hospital’s existing 42-bed COVID care facility that has been catering to over three lakh rural and tribal population in H.D. Kote and neighbouring taluks since the last one year.”
This new innovative facility will be virtually inaugurated by CEO and Managing Director of L&T Amit Chadha on June 20 at 3.30 pm. Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayan, District Minister S.T. Somashekar, MLA C. Anil Kumar and SVYM President Dr. R. Balasubramaniam will be present. There are plans to set up one more 37-bed COVID Care Centre in near future, which would have four beds reserved as ICU.
“In collaboration with the State Government, vaccination campaign for indigenous tribal and rural community members will also be inaugurated on this occasion. So far, the hospital has admitted and managed close to 200 patients from rural areas of surrounding five taluks with moderate to severe COV1D illness,” Kumar Suryanarayana said.
