“Swachha Mysuru Swastha Jeevana” completes 12 weeks

Mysuru: The 12th week of “Swachha Mysuru Swastha Jeevana” programme, launched by Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama for 40 weeks, to create public awareness about cleanliness and environmental protection, was held yesterday at 7 different areas of Siddartha Layout.

The areas included Kurubarahalli, Pourakarmikara Colony, Sangeetha Corner, Vinaya Marga, San Marga, Kapila Marga and surroundings of Ganapati Temple.

Swami Kamalanandaji Maharaj, Senior Monk of Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru,  M. Mahadevamma, local Corporator and D. Madegowda, ex-MLC inaugurated the cleaning campaign.

The volunteers visited houses and requested them to maintain cleanliness in the surroundings. About 200 committed volunteers, 30 MCC cleaning staff and 80 local citizens participated in the cleaning drive.

The brochure on “Swachha Mysuru Swastha Jeevana” was distributed to houses in the locality, according to a press release from Swami Atmajnananda, Adhyaksha,  Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Yadavagiri, Mysuru.
