Mysuru: As part of the novel initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, calling for applications to rank the higher educational institutions based on their cleanliness under ‘Swachta Ranking of Higher Educational Institutions,’ JSS Science and Technology University (SJCE) in city has initiated several measures to enhance the cleanliness in the campus.
As part of this process, the students and faculty of the institution took part in the pledge-taking event at SJCE on Aug. 12.
Dr. T. N. Nagabhushan, Principal, SJCE, briefed on the MHRD initiative. Dr. C. G. Betsurmath, Executive Secretary, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, explained the various steps that need to be adapted in securing top rank at the national level under the initiative. Administering the pledge to the gathering, he also recalled his efforts in securing first place to Mysuru city when he was the MCC Commissioner.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. B. G. Sangameshwara, Registrar Dr. K. S. Lokesh and other officials of the University were present. The Department of Environmental Engineering is offering technical leadership in enhancing the cleanliness in the campus.
More than 2,000 students and faculty took the pledge to keep the University premises Smart, Clean and Green.
