Mysore/Mysuru: Swami Shambhavanandaji, Founder-President of Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala, Yadavagiri, had a great desire to involve the students of the city of Mysuru and organise educational programmes for them. Accordingly, after the demise of the Swamiji in February 1972, it was decided to hold in his memory, an Annual Inter-High School Competition in General Knowledge (GK). The Alumni Association of Vidyashala came forward to fund the programme.
The 50th edition of General Knowledge Competition is going to be held on Nov. 19 at the Vidyashala premises in Yadavagiri.
A total of 770 candidates from 39 High Schools of Mysuru city have registered to take part in this competition.
This is a competition exclusively meant for outside students. Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala students do not take part in it. The candidates are required to answer 100 objective type questions in 90 minutes. The question paper is set in English only. A panel of judges is constituted every year to decide the prize-winners.
