Mysuru: The 75th birthday celebrations ‘Vajrotsava’ of Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji, being held at Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashrama in Datta Nagar here, will conclude with group singing of Guru Gita by devotees at 6 pm today. Sri Swamiji gave personal darshan to devotes this morning.
The programme began at about 8 am with Sri Chakra puja, Devi Homa etc., which was followed by Samarpana by devotees from 9 am, during which the Swamiji gave personal darshan to devotees who had come from across the city and from abroad.
Yesterday, the Swamiji extended financial help of Rs. 20,000 each to the widows of six martyrs and also to the widows of two Veda Pandits of Hubbali and Gokarna, who passed away at a young age.
Sources in the Ashrama said that more than 20,000 devotees partook in the celebrations daily, which began from May 21, and more than 3,000 devotees were provided accommodation in the Ashrama, while others were accommodated in various hotels.
The celebrations saw renowned musicians and artistes presenting music concerts and dance ballet in the Ashrama and honouring dignitaries who have excelled in various fields with Datta Peeta Awards.
Today, group singing of Guru Gita by the devotees will be held at 6 pm in Nada Mantapa in the Ashrama premises.
