Mysuru: Ganabharathi has organised a dance programme based on the compositions of Veene Seshanna by Vidu. C.N. Anitha on Jan.11 at 6 pm. The programme is organised in memory of Swaramurthy V.N. Rao. She will be accompanied by Vidu. Nayana Shivaram on natuvanga, Vid. Tumkur B. Shashishankar on mridanga and Vid. A.P. Krishna Prasad on flute. Vid. Rakesh Sudhir will provide vocal support.
Artiste’s profile: Vidu. Anitha is groomed under the tutelage of Guru Vidu. Rajeshwari and Vidu. Kripa Phadke. She completed Vidwat Exam conducted by KSEEB with flying colours in 1999. A special craving for choreography inspired her to take up an intensive training under Guru Karnataka Kalathilaka, Natyacharya K. Muralidhar Rao in Pandanallur style of Bharatanatyam. She has performed and has choreographed many dance-dramas like Dashavathara, Ramayana Dharshanam, etc. Blessed with tremendous skill in teaching, teaching dance is her passion. Most sought after resource person in the field of dance, she has been training a number of students in her institute ‘Nritya Vidya Peeta.’ She has imparted her knowledge to more than 10,000 students in a programme organised by NCERT. Since three years she has been invited by Paris University to guide the students in the Department of Dance.
