SWR Women’s Welfare Organisation celebrates International Women’s Day

Hubballi:  Deepali Gupta, President of South Western Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (SWRWWO), inaugurated the International Women’s Day celebrations by lighting  the lamp at Railway Officer’s Club, Hubballi.

Deepali Gupta spoke on the theme “Press for Progress” and gave a call to motivate and unite friends, colleagues and whole communities to think, act and be gender inclusive. She said that though women have made tremendous progress in all fields, they need to empower themselves.

On the occasion, she felicitated the meritorious woman employees of South Western Railway who have excelled in their duties. Women employees of Headquarters office, Hubballi workshop and Railway Central Hospital attended the function.

A colourful cultural programme was also conducted.

Neeta Agarwal, Secretary, Sunita Gupta, Treasurer and all the Executive Members and Members of SWRWWO, Headquarters, were present.

Sanitary Pad Vending Machine & Incinerator

SWRWWO recently got installed Sanitary Pad Vending Machine and Incinerator in South Western Railway Zonal Office Rail Soudha and at SWRWWO’s English Medium School, Gadag Road, to ensure hygienic practices leading to good health of women. Around 100 ladies are working in the Zonal Headquarters Office and there is no shop located nearby area. As such the new arrangement benefits immensely to the working women.

One Rest Room for Ladies was inaugurated at Rail Soudha by A.K. Gupta, General Manager and Deepali Gupta.

This will enable women employees of South Western Railway Headquarters in discharging their duties efficiently.

Radha Yadav, Secretary; Sunita Gupta, Treasurer and all the Executive Committee members and members of the SWRWWO attended the event.
