Mysuru: Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development (SDM-IMD), Mysuru, in collaboration with European Federation for Management Development (EFMD – Europe), an accrediting body for quality & impact assessment of B-Schools; and, Third Sector Research Resource Centre, University of Mysore, is organising a Symposium on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Community Development on Feb.26 from 10 am.
The symposium is proposed to discuss the broad philosophy behind the emphasis on social responsibility and how corporate bodies are rising to the occasion to meet this need.
It features special talks by senior corporate executives with practical exposure to CSR, invited lectures by senior academician of international repute, deliberations by senior executives of NGOs, and panel discussion. The panel will be represented by industry, NGOs and academics.
Prof. Ulrich Hommel, Director of EFMD & Chair Professor of Corporate Finance, EBS Business School, Belgium, will deliver the keynote address. The distinguished speakers include B. Muthuraman, former Vice- Chairman of Tata Steel, Dr. N. Muthukumar, President & Whole Time Director of Automotive Axles Limited, R. Basavaraju, Executive Director, GRAAM and V.R. Prasanna, CEO, Sikshana Foundation, William D’Souza, Executive Director, MYKAPS, Mysore, R. Guru, Managing Partner, N. Ranga Rao & Sons, Dr. N.R. Parasuraman, Director, SDM-IMD, Mysuru and Dr. M.R. Suresh, Professor – Marketing, SDM-IMD.
The symposium can be attended by academicians, executives of NGOs, executives of corporate sector, and practitioners of CSR.
