T.S. Chayapathi selected as Chairman of Publishers Conference

Mysore/Mysuru: T.S. Chayapathi,  Publisher of city’s well-known Talukina Venkannaiah Smaraka Granthamale publishing house, has been selected as the Chairman of Publishers Conference to be hosted by Kannada Book Authority at  Mysuru in  March.

In a press release, Kannada Book Authority Chairman Dr. M.N. Nandeesh Hanche said that the Conference will take place in the second week of March. 

A 6-day Kannada Book Mela will be part of the Conference, Hanche said adding that there will be discount on sale of Kannada books during the mela.

Profile: T.S. Chayapathi, who was born in Mysuru in 1944, is taking forward the Talukina Venkannaiah Smaraka Granthamale that was established by writer T.S. Shamarao in 1950.  Chayapathi is one of the rare publishers that the Kannada book world has seen, having published more than 1,000 books and written about 25 books.

The Granthamaale was accorded the Best Publisher Award in 1999 by Kannada Book Authority and also by Kannada Sahitya Parishat.

Considering his services to the field of Kannada Publishing, Chayapathi has been selected to Chair the second Publishers Conference to take place in Mysuru, the release said.
