Mysuru girl, M.V. Spoorthi of SBRR Mahajana FGC, taking part in the Canara Union State ranking table tennis tournament which concluded at Bengaluru on Tuesday, lost in the semi-finals in the women’s singles event.
Koumudi Patankar beat M.V. Spoorthi 7-11, 11-7, 11-9, 11-7, 7-11, 11-8 in the semi-finals.
In the quarter-finals, Spoorthi had a good win over Vibha 11-6, 9-11, 11-4, 11-6, 11-9.
In the Non-medallist Singles final, K. Sudharshan beat Bhaskar Mysore 11-8, 11-5, 12-10 to clinch the title.
In the semi-finals, Bhaskar Mysore beat Ravindra Hemmad to sail into the title round.
In the Youth Boys Singles, Samarth Kurdikeri beat Mysuru lad Neeraj Raj 11-9, 5-11, 11-7, 11-5, 6-11, 13-11 in the quarter-finals.
Incidentally, B. Rakshit (Men’s Singles & Youth Boys), Maria Rony (Women’s Singles) and Anargaya Manjunath (Triple Crown — Junior Girls, Youth and Sub-Junior Girls) clinched the titles.
