Talented Cricketer: Kishan Bedare

Cricket is a very popular game in our country and many youngsters have taken up cricket as their career. Mysuru also has its share of producing talented cricketers who have gone on to represent the State and the country. City’s talented cricketer Kishan S. Bedare, has come up with some sterling performance with the willow representing Mofussil XI in Sri S.A. Srinivasan Memorial (U-23) Tournament-2017, by scoring back to back centuries against Combined City XI (121) & against President’s XI (105). This Mysuru Zone lad earned selection to represent the Mofussil XI with some good performance with the bat in S.A. Srinivasan Inter-Mofussil Touney-2017 and was part of the Mysuru Zone team which won the title for the second year in succession. He is our ‘Star This Week.’

Kishan, a 2nd year B.Com student from Kautilya FGC run by Sapient Education Trust at Vijayanagar, Mysuru, has impressed everyone with his solid performance in the ongoing S.A. Srinivasan Memorial Inter-Zonal Tournament-2017. He stands a good chance of earning selection to one of the State sides for the forthcoming Dr. Thimmappiah All-India Tournament-2017.

Representing Mofussil XI, Kishan scored a well-compiled 121 against Combined City XI and helped his team post a total of 331 in 89.5 overs in the first innings. The match ended in a draw with Combined City XI gaining three points and Mofussil XI earning one point. In the next game against President’s XI at Alur Grounds, Kishan came up with a brilliant knock of 105 against President’s XI and helped their team score 287 in 86.2 overs.

Kishan has represented the State and South Zone in the U-16 level and has been a consistent scorer in the KSCA Mysuru Zone first division league, and also in the KSCA league being held in Bengaluru.

He has represented Mysuru Zone in the U-14, U-16 and U-19 levels. He has been a part of the KSCA Academy, Mysuru, and has improved his skills with the bat and ball with coaching from the KSCA coaches at the Academy.

Kishan, a middle-order batsman and a medium-pacer, representing Jawahars in the KSCA U-16 & U-19 Tournament for Clubs in Bengaluru, won ‘The Best Batsman’ award last year. Kishan is being encouraged by his parents and is being given the due encouragement from his team senior member Harikrishna Kumar and others from the Club.
