Mysuru: Talents Day was held at St. Joseph’s College for Women at Sathagalli here recently.
The programme was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Vijaya Kumar, Secretary and Correspondent, Mysore Diocesan Educational Society (MDES), in the presence of Sadhaka Ratna M.R. Shree Harsha, Assistant Professor at Maharaja Institute of Technology, who was the chief guest, Dr. R. Manu, Principal, St.Joseph’s College for Women and Antony Mary, Convener of Cultural Committee.
Shree Harsha, who enthralled the gathering with his songs, said that music is in the soul and every song must be sung from within and touch the hearts of the people around you.
He said “Music is not heard just as an entertainment but felt as a company along your journey of life with its tender touch to sooth the soul that lies deep within.”
Many events like dance, singing, fashion show and debate were held besides conducting events and competitions like mehandi art, sketching, cooking without fire, best out of waste and essay writing.
Rev. Fr. Vijaya Kumar, in his presidential address, encouraged the students to come out with their latent talents. Principal Dr. R. Manu felicitated the chief guest. Sujitha, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, welcomed. Tasmiya, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, proposed a vote of thanks.
