Mysore/Mysuru: Mysore Open Forum has organised a talk on the topic ‘A Demography Without Dividend — When the brain fails before the bell rings’ by Ashvini Ranjan, Founder Trustee of Pratham Mysore at 10.30 am on Feb. 1 (Sunday) at Kalpa Kshetra Auditorium, 581/1, Vijayanagar 4th Stage, 1st Phase, Mysuru.
A graduate from the University of Mysore with degrees in Political Science and Law, Ashvini Ranjan began his professional journey as a teacher in Political Science at Mysore University. He later transitioned into business.
With his experience as an industrialist, he felt the importance of good basic education and skills among workers as essential for the success of any enterprise.
In 2002, alongside his wife Shashi, he founded Pratham Mysore, an NGO dedicated to educating children in slums and rural villages. Since its inception, Pratham Mysore has become active in 1,200 villages, serving the educational needs of over 200,000 children.
Based on his experiences at Pratham and working with children, he will speak on why rural children in Karnataka fall behind in studies and lack necessary skills to succeed in later life.
The talk is open to all.
