Mysore Open Forum has organised a talk on ‘The Science of Happiness’ by Prof. V.N.K. Kumar on Saturday (Jan. 28) at 10 am at Kalpa Kshetra Auditorium, 581/1, Vijayanagar 4th Stage, 1st Phase, Mysuru.
Professor V.N.K. Kumar has a degree in Mechanical Engineering (Calcutta) and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (Ahmedabad). He has worked as a Training Manager at TELCO, SAIL and CUMI and has been a professor of Management at Xavier Institute of Management, Ranchi. He has just published a book on “The Science of Happiness”.
“While we are all looking for happiness, only a few of us ever completely attain it. But happiness matters! People who are happy not only enjoy life but also tend to have better relationships, are physically healthier and are much more productive. Though science seems to indicate that genetic influence plays a large role in our happiness, the speaker shows how we can manufacture our own happiness by engaging in voluntary and intentional activities. Using a unique and scientific model, the speaker explores the Influence of the Past, Expectations of the Future, and Experiences of the Present, to cull out a set of actions that can transform one’s life from dull and drab to a life brimming with gratitude, hope, and joy, leading to a happy and meaningful life,” says Dr. V.R. Anil Kumar of Mysore Open Forum. The talk is open to all. Contact Mob: 94498-19536.
