Mysore/Mysuru: As part of ‘Science Sanje’ event, Kalasuruchi and Kutuhali-Kannada have organised a talk on ‘The Physics of Life’ by Dr. Vijaykumar Krishnamurthy, Associate Professor, International Centre for Theoretical Sciences of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (ICTS-TIFR), Bengaluru, at Suruchi Rangamane in Kuvempunagar on Apr. 11 from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm. The talk will be in Kannada.
Profile: Dr. Vijaykumar Krishnamurthy’s area of research is Physical Biology and Soft Condensed Matter Physics. He is a Post Doctoral Fellow at Max Plank Institute, Germany and Yale University.
Understanding biological systems through the lens of classical statistical physics and soft condensed matter physics is his primary research interest. Current focus is on mechano-chemical pattern formation as relevant to morphogenetic processes in developing embryos.
