Mysuru; A Bullet tanker carrying an Acid, overturned on Mysuru-Nanjangud highway on Friday, causing a scare among motorists and nearby villagers.
The 12-wheel tanker, which was transporting Methacrylic acid from Chennai to Nanjangud Asian Paints Factory, lost contol of its driver near Varuna Aqueduct close to Gejjagalli circle on Mysuru-Nanjangud road. However, the driver and other occupants of the tanker escaped unhurt. Also, there was no leakage from the overturned tanker. Soon upon learning about the incident, fire-personnel from Mysuru rushed to the spot and prevented any possible hazards, it is learnt.
The Mysuru South Police who visited the spot, ensured smooth vehicular movement following the accident. Meanwhile, it is learnt that the overturned tanker was lifted up with the help of a crane on Friday night.
