Bylakuppe: In solidarity with the concerted efforts to fight COVID-19 by the Central and State Governments, the Abbot and Monks of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery in Bylakuppe donated a total of Rs. 2.5 lakh to the Prime Minister and Chief Minister’s Relief funds recently.
While Rs. 1.5 lakh was donated to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund and Rs. 1 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Also, dry rations for one month and face masks were distributed to 224 poor families in Bylakuppe and one month’s dry rations, face masks and sanitisers were distributed to the Police.
Disinfectant sprayed
In a bid to prevent Coronavirus (COVID-19) from spreading, the Fire and Emergency Services personnel, along with Bylakuppe Gram Panchayat (GP), undertook spraying of disinfectant on all roads, drains and other places in Bylakuppe recently.
The spraying of disinfectant was taken up as many Coronavirus cases had come to light. Bylakuppr GP Members Manjunath and Raghu said that spraying of disinfectant should be taken up continuously or at least once in a month to prevent the spread of the virus.
Fire Station Officer Ajay Kumar, Panchayat Development Officer Shivayoga and staff M.D. Rajanayaka, Ramakrishna, Krishna and others were present.
