‘Task Force planned to check flood’

Mysore/Mysuru: Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda said, a Task Force involving Officers from different departments will be constituted to undertake precautionary measures to tackle flood in the limits of 1,763 Gram Panchayats including Mysuru district in State.

He was addressing media persons after presiding over the Progress Review Meeting at the Regional Commissioner’s Office in city on Tuesday.

The Task Force shall include Revenue Officer of respective GPs, Panchayat Raj Engineer and a Nodal Officer to coordinate with the Officers of Fire and Emergency Services Department. They will be tasked with the job of identifying vulnerable places and take precautions against natural calamity. They should also conduct a Mock Drill and during calamities, Task Force Officials should camp in GP limits, added the Minister.
