Tax payment ordeal at Bogadi Panchayat

Sir,

The areas located on the other side of the Ring Road, towards Bogadi and beyond, fall under the jurisdiction of the Bogadi Town Panchayat. The process of paying house taxes at the Bogadi Town Panchayat Office has, unfortunately, become a highly stressful experience for residents. The office is understaffed, lacks proper infrastructure, and faces frequent server failures.

This makes it extremely difficult — especially for women and senior citizens — to get their work done promptly.

In an era where digitisation is widespread, why can’t the Panchayat introduce online payment facilities for tax collection?

One wonders whether this Town Panchayat is overburdened with work or simply unable to cope with existing workload. I urge authorities concerned to improve the infrastructure, shift the tax payment counters to the ground floor, deploy additional staff for quicker service, provide adequate seating arrangements to ease waiting, and ensure uninterrupted server and internet connectivity at all times.
