Mysore/Mysuru: The two-day National Tax Conference and Tax Practitioners Day organised by All India Federation of Tax Practitioners (AIFTP) in association with Karnataka State Tax Practitioners Association (KSTPA), began at a private hotel on Hunsur Road here this morning.

Speaking after inaugurating the Conference, KSTPA President S. Nanjunda Prasad said that the KSTPA has sought the GST (Goods and Services Tax) Council for inclusion of a Tax Practitioner, a Chartered Accountant and a FKCCI (Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industries) member from Karnataka as representatives in the Council.

Pointing out that Tax practitioners are facing a few problems in the GST regime, he stressed on the need for giving prominence to Tax Practitioners in 2-tier cities such as Mysuru, Mangaluru and Hubballi, as it will help in addressing several GST issues much better. Noting that many Tax Practitioners of the State lost their lives during the COVID pandemic, he demanded the Centre to introduce Group Insurance cover for Tax Practitioners.

All India Federation of Tax Practitioners President Narayan Prasad Jain, Chairman (Southern Zone) Ramaraja Srinivasa Rao, Conference Committee Chairman Mukund L. Potnis, Convenor Sudharshan, Co-ordinator D.M. Bhattad and others were present.
