Leaves behind her only daughter studying at M.S. Ramaiah College
Mysore/Mysuru: A lady teacher was killed on the spot, when a concrete-mixing vehicle ran over her at RBI Junction near GRS Fantasy Park on the Outer Ring Road here this morning.
The deceased has been identified as Muktha (49), a music teacher at Keelanapura Government School in the taluk and a resident of Hebbal in city. She leaves behind her daughter Sankeerthana, who is studying at M.S. Ramaiah College in Bengaluru. Muktha’s husband had pre-deceased her during COVID.
Muktha, after crossing the Royal Inn Junction, was proceeding on her electric scooter on the Ring Road, when the concrete-mixing vehicle (KA-09-D-4982) reportedly hit the scooter from behind at RBI Junction near GRS Fantasy Park. When Muktha fell from the scooter, the concrete mixing vehicle allegedly ran over her killing her on the spot.
After the accident, the driver of the concrete mixer did not stop the vehicle but continued to drive. On seeing this negligent behaviour, the irate public chased the vehicle for about 500 mts and stopped it. The driver, on seeing the enraged public, fled from the spot.
VV Puram Traffic Inspector Lava, Sub-Inspector Gautham and staff, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, registered a case, shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary and have seized the concrete-mixing vehicle.
