Bengaluru: In a bid to provide some relief to aggrieved Government School teachers, the Education Department has come up with a revised schedule for transfer of Primary and High School teachers, Head Masters and equivalent grade teachers.
The Government, which has dropped compulsory transfer and transfer of excess teachers, has now allowed only request and mutual transfer.
Prior to the commencement of the new academic year (2024-25), the Karnataka State Primary School Teachers Association had appealed the Government to drop Zonal transfers.
Taking note of the appeal, the Education Department dropped Zonal transfer plans, while allowing other types of transfers.
The Department had launched the transfer process on Mar. 18 but as the Model Code of Conduct came into force for the 2024 LS polls, the process was stalled. Now, as per the revised time schedule, the provisional list of teachers serving in specified places will be published today (June 18), for which objections can be filed till June 21 and subsequently, the draft final list will be published on June 24.
The deadline for filing of applications for Request and Mutual transfer is June 20 and the last date for scrutiny of applications is June 27. Subsequently, the list of eligible/ineligible teachers for Intra and Inter-district transfer will be published on June 29, for which objections can be filed till July 5. Later, the provisional list will be published on July 8, the list of vacant places on July 10 and the final list on July 18.
