Bengaluru: In a move that could bring cheer to thousands of teacher aspirants, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) on Wednesday last extended the validity of Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) qualification certificate to lifetime.
Earlier, the validity of TET certificate was limited to seven years from the date of qualification. But now, this validity has been extended to lifetime, bringing much cheer to teacher aspirants.
Qualifying in the TET is mandatory for those aspiring to become teachers in Government Schools. The NCTE took the decision to extend the certificate validity of 7 years to lifetime at its 50th General Body Meeting held recently.
Meanwhile, several Teacher Bodies have welcomed the decision saying that teacher aspirants have been spared of writing the exam repeatedly.
