Teachers Association seeks securing of Department of Public Instruction land

Mysore/Mysuru: The District Unit of Karnataka State Primary School Teachers Association has urged the authorities to secure the Department of Public Instruction lands in the city.

In a memorandum submitted to Nazarbad’s DIET Principal Raghunandan on Tuesday, the Association office-bearers said that a dilapidated building stands on a 80’x100’ plot belonging to Maharani Government Teacher Training College near Ashoka Circle (Ballal Circle) on JLB road. But attempts are being made by a builder to encroach upon this land for construction of a nursing home adjacent to the dilapidated building. Also, the compound wall of the building has been demolished to facilitate encroachment, they alleged and urged the authorities to secure the property from encroachments.

They also urged the authorities to secure all the Department’s properties, including the old building located next to Guru Bhavan in Siddarthanagar, the building near the Head Post office in Lashkar Mohalla and the old building near Panduranga temple close to Sri Talkies in Mandi Mohalla.  Association office-bearers K.B. Somegowda, Manjunath, Maharani Teacher Training College Principal Nanjundaswamy, faculty Shankar, Uma and others were present.
