Pragathi Institutions celebrated Teachers’ Day on Sept. 5 in the presence of Dr. Gururaj Yeri, retired Principal of Sarada Vilas College, Mysuru, as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, he said: “A person moulds his life only through doing good deeds and a teacher should have a feeling of family environment in school for successful teaching.” Teachers of Pragathi Institutions Mangala B. Kari, V. Sreedhara, K.K. Mamatha, Madhubala and Ramyashree shared their experiences. Institution Secretary Karthik V. Kashyap welcomed. Principal N. Sreevathsa proposed a vote of thanks. Chairman V. Venkatesh, Managing Trustee Jayashree Venkatesh and Head Mistress Kausalya Shivakumar shared their thoughts on Teachers’ Day which marks the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the second President of India. As a token of respect, mementoes were given to teaching and non-teaching staff. Cultural programmes were given by teachers. Students of Pragathi Institutions uploaded their teachers’ photos on social media and showed respect to them.
