Mysuru: Over 1,500 Government Primary School teachers, under the aegis of Karnataka State Primary School Teachers Association, Mysuru district, took out a rally from the office of the Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI) to the DC’s office to mark their protest against the amendments made to the Cadre & Recruitment Rules.
They sought abolition of the order restricting teachers appointed before 2014 to teach only classes from 1st to 5th standard, uniform pay scales, restoration of Old Pension Scheme and introduction of LKG and UKG in all Primary Schools. A memorandum was also submitted to the DC.
Speaking to Star of Mysore, DDPI Panduranga said that all the Government Primary Schools were functioning in the district and only a section of the teachers had volunteered to take out the protest rally today.
