Teams of Sub-Inspectors formed to check violators

A Traffic Policeman stops helmet-less riders near Hardinge Circle this morning.

Mysore/Mysuru: Apart from COVID-Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) Teams that have been formed to penalise COVID-19 norms violators, the City Police has also formed dedicated teams of Sub-Inspectors of all the Police Stations to strictly enforce the rules.

The teams have been formed as per Sub-Divisions and the jurisdictional officers would patrol the areas to book violators. They will visit public places including hotels, choultries and event halls to ensure that the number of people gathered there adhere to the government-fixed numbers. Violators are booked under the provisions of Indian Penal Code and Disaster Management Act.

Obtaining prior information about the marriages at choultries, number of invitations sent and the quantity of food ordered to be prepared, the teams will pay surprise visits to choultries and video-graph the proceedings. The video clippings will later be handed over to the jurisdictional Police Stations to book the violators.

Cases have already been booked against a few hotels near Bogadi Ring Road signal, Jayalakshmipuram, Rajivnagar Ring Road and a provision store in Udayagiri.
