Mysuru lad S.D. Prajwal Dev, representing India in the $15,000 ITF Uganda F4 Futures Tennis Tournament for Men at Kampala, won his first round Men’s Singles match against Nigeria’s qualifier Sylvester Emmanuel 6-2, 6-0 in a tie which lasted for one hour and twelve minutes on Tuesday.
In another first round tie, top-seed Ivan Nedelko (Russia) beat Mysuru lad C. Vasisht 6-2, 6-2 in the match which lasted for one hour and nine minutes.
In the men’s Doubles first round, Kunal Anand and Giovani Samaha beat Vasisht and Prajwal Dev 6-3, 6-3 and sailed into the quarter-finals.
In the men’s Singles pre-quarter-finals, Prajwal Dev, seeded eighth, will meet Samaha Giovani of Lebanon on Wednesday.
