Mysuru lads Suraj R. Prabodh and S.D. Prajwal Dev, representing India in the India F4 Futures $15,000 Men’s Tennis Tournament in Trivandrum, yesterday won their respective first round Men’s Singles matches and sailed into the pre-quarterfinals.
Suraj scored a well-earned 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 win over eighth seeded Indian Aryan Goveas in a tie which lasted for two hours and 12 minutes.
Suraj served decently and got 51% of his first serves in while his rival Aryan had only 49% of his first serves in.
Suraj won 93% of his service games which proved vital.
Prajwal Dev scored a easy 6-0, 6-2 win over India’s Jayesh Pungliya in match which lasted for just fifty seven minutes.
In the pre-quarter-finals, Prajwal Dev will meet third seeded Arjun Kadhe, while Suraj takes on Anirudh Chandrashekar.
