Mysuru: As part of its social service initiative, the city unit of Akhil Bharatiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad will be conducting a blood donation camp at 5 centres across the city at 10 am on Dec.22.
The centres are Terapanth Bhavan on M.G. Road, Apollo Hospital on Adichunchanagiri Road, Kuvempunagar, Kamakshi Hospital, Saraswathipuram, Milk Dairy (KMF) on Bannur Road and Maharani’s College for Women.

Terapanth, a sect of Jainism, has 325 branches across the world with a membership strength of 80,000, most of them youths. It conducts many social programmes and hold awareness campaigns on a variety of issues for the welfare of the Society.
The Parishad became a Guinness Record holder in the category Largest Blood Donation (8 hours) in multiple locations on Sept.6, 2014. It also holds Guinness World Record for Largest Eye Health Screening Camp with the involvement of 6,694 participants, organised along with Acharya Tulsi Diagnostic Centre at BBMP Grounds in Bengaluru on Mar.12, 2013.
The Parishad has so far held over 700 camps across 300 cities, collecting over one lakh units of blood. The Parishad, working with a motto that each day is a blood donation day, has not rested after achieving Guinness Record and has continued to hold blood donation camps every year all over India. In Mysuru, the camp will be held on Dec.22 at 5 centres from 10 am to 5 pm and the public are appealed to take part in large numbers in this novel social initiative.
