Terrorism, internal security expert delivers talk at ATI

Mysuru: The Probationary Officers of the 174th and 175th batch of Common Foundation Course at the Administrative Training Institute (ATI) were exposed to fresh thinking on internal security and terrorism by advisor Tobby Simon at a talk he delivered in the ATI recently.

The newly appointed Probationary Officers from State Audit and Accounts Department, Animal Husbandry Department, Deputy Superintendents of Police (Dy.SPs), Assistant Jail Superintendent attended the talk by Tobby Simon, Founder and President of Synergia Foundation.

He spoke about the idea of internal security and the national and international challenges the country is facing.

He went on to describe about the basic reason for terrorism, common people’s thinking on this issue and media’s views and handling of terrorism. He also highlighted the role of the common man and his responsibilities in containing terrorism.

In reaction to a question from Dy.SPs and Jail Assistant Superintendents on their role in internal security, Tobby Simon said that the way Police Officer gathers information and how through that he can strengthen internal security becomes very important.

Administration and Protocol Deputy Director H.S. Yashaswini and Lecturer Dr. H.N. Kumar welcomed the guest speaker. Lecturer Dr. Shashikumar proposed a vote of thanks.
