Mysore/Mysuru: The 13th Covid Mitra Centre was opened at Vishwapragna School on Dattagalli Ring Road in Chamundeshwari Assembly Constituency here yesterday.
MLA G.T. Devegowda inaugurated this Centre by flagging of an ambulance provided to the Taluk Administration for shifting of Covid positive patients to the Hospital or to the Centre.
Speaking on the occasion, he said 700 ASHA and Anganwadi workers work in this Constituency. Each team comprising two workers is given 20 masks, face shields and 10 pair of gloves since they have been put on house-to-house survey work for the early detection and treatment of Covid infected people. Besides, they have been given digital thermometer and pulse oximeter to examine every person.
He said the Covid Mitra Centre with 100 bed capacity has been opened at the Horticulture College Hostel at Yelachanahalli village for the sake of Corona positive patients of Yelwal. It included 10 oxygenated beds and 15 general beds. There was a provision to increase the bed strength to 400, he added.
Ward No. 46 Corporator Lakshmi Kiran Madegowda, Ward 44 Corporator Nirmala Harish, Ward 58 Corporator P.K. Sharath, Assistant Commissioner Sathyamurthy, COVID Mitra In-Charge Dr. B.V. Raviteja and others were present.
