Mysuru: The Alanahalli Police, who arrested three car-lifters, have succeeded in recovering a stolen car worth about Rs.3 lakh and an auto used for the crime.
The arrested have been identified as Krishnamurthy alias Arjun, 24, Manukumar, 24, both from Bengaluru and M.P. Naveen, 40, a resident of Kesare in city.
While Naveen is an auto-driver in the city, Krishnamurthy and Manukumar worked as cab drivers at Bengaluru and the three were known to each other.
The three were accused of stealing the Maruti Swift car belonging to one Jayaram of Yaraganahalli in the city on Sept.23, by using duplicate keys.
The trio, after stealing the car, changed its number plate and had a joy ride in it in different parts of the State.
The trio had also visited Mysuru, from where they went to Kollegal. They were returning to Mysuru from Kollegal on Sunday, when the Alanahalli Police tracked the stolen car and arrested the trio.
One of the accused, Krishnamurthy was also wanted in a theft case registered in Nazarbad Police Station some time ago, according to the Police.
