Mysuru: Akhila Bharatiya Sahitya Parishat had organised a function at Rotary Hall on JLB Road here on Friday for the release of three books ‘Chintana Deepti’, ‘Nenapugalu Sayuvudilla’ and ‘Odu Baravanigeya Shatruve?’ written by Sathanur Devaraj.
Littérateur Dr. C.P. Krishnakumar released the books.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. B.V. Vasanth Kumar, Head of the Department of Kannada, Maharani’s Arts College opined that the youth cannot build a career in villages now where the cultural lifestyle has totally deteriorated. He observed that students from rural areas who come to study in cities do not feel proud that their parents are farmers as many have inferiority complex on agriculture profession. The agricultural activity too has become mechanical now with nothing much to celebrate.
Continuing Vasanth Kumar said that the author Devaraj has excellently portrayed the richness of ‘Sankranti’ festival, unrealistic approach of the so called rationals on popular mythological beliefs and on contemporary topics.
Parishat Secretary Dr. E.C. Ningaraj Gowda, District KSP President Dr. Y.D. Rajanna and others were present.
