Mysuru: The City Crime Branch (CCB) Police, following a tip off, have arrested a burglar who was moving in a suspicious manner on Ashoka Road here on Sept. 11. The arrested has been identified as Mohammed Hasib of Nehru Nagar in city.
During interrogation, Hasib is said to have confessed of committing burglaries at three houses in Kuvempunagar and one house in Nazarbad Police limits, following which, the Police arrested two more accused in Srirangapatna on Sept. 15. The other two burglars have been identified as Mohammed Saif of Chikmagalur and Syed Wasim of Nachanahallipalya in Mysuru.
Based on the information provided by the accused, the Police have recovered 101 grams gold jewellery worth about Rs. 2.85 lakh from them.
It is learnt that Mohammed Saif has a case of mobile phone theft registered against him in Chikmagalur.
DCP Dr. Vikram V. Amathe and CCB ACP C. Gopal supervised CCB inspector R. Jagadeesh, SI M.J. Jayasheelan, ASI K. Vijay and staff in the nabbing and recovery operation.
