Mysuru: The three-day Alvas Nudisiri-2018, the 15th Kannada Nadu-Nudi-Culture Conference, organised by Alva’s Education Foundation will be held in Moodbidri from Nov.16 to 18.
Addressing a press conference at Pathrakarthara Bhavan here on Wednesday, Sammelan President and Media Coordinator Dr. Mallika S. Ghanti said that the conference will be inaugurated on Nov.16 by internationally acclaimed Historian Prof. S. Settar at Moodbidri’s Vidyagiri Smt.Sundari Ananda Alva premises and nearly 50,000 people including students and scholars are likely to participate.
The guests of honour will be MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA Umanatha Kotian and others. The three-day conference will feature seminars, plays and there will be cultural programmes in the evenings from 6.45 pm to 10 pm, she said.
There will be procession of scholars and achievers on Nov.18 at 3.30 pm followed by the valedictory function. Besides this, Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy in association with Alva’s Nudisiri has organised a film festival and movies will be screened on all the three days of the conference, she said.
A day before the inauguration, on Nov.15 there will be students from different schools and colleges in Dakshina Kannada participating in the Sahitya Sanskriti Sammelan.
The entry is free for students while the Kannada lovers can become members by paying Rs.100. There will also be Krishi Siri on Nov.15 at K.S. Puttanaiah Agriculture premises, said Dr. Mallika Ghanti.
Mysuru Media Coordinators Rajashekar Kadamba and Devashri Setty were present at the press meet.
