Three-day cricket tournament to create awareness on Tuberculosis from Mar.12

Mysuru:   Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rohini Sindhuri, yesterday unveiled the trophies for the three-day cricket tournament to be held from Mar.12 in city. The tournament has been organised jointly be the District Administration, Zilla Panchayat and District Health and Family Welfare Department to create awareness on Tuberculosis (TB).

Speaking  on the occasion, District TB Eradication Officer Dr. Siraj Ahmed said that World Tuberculosis Day is being observed on Mar. 24 and the cricket tournament is being organised to spread awareness on the  deadly disease.

Pointing out that measures are being taken to make the country free of the disease by 2025, he said that apart from the three-day cricket tournament (Mar.12 to 14), several other awareness and sensitisation programmes will be organised at different places in the district. Also, a pamphlet campaign too will be organised, he added. Health Staff Rajesh, Manjunath, Chandrashekar, Mahadev, Channegowda, Umesh and others were present.
