Mysuru: A three-day National Conference on ‘Language Across Curriculum (LAC) in Multi-Linguistic Context: Scope and Challenges’ has been organised by the Department of Education in Social Science and Humanities, Regional Institute of Education (RIE), from Jan. 29 to 31 at its A.V. Hall, Technology Block, Mansagangothri.
Prof. G. Gopinathan, former VC, Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Vishwavidyalaya, Wardha, will inaugurate the Conference at 10 am tomorrow.
Prof. N. Manu Chakravarthy, former Professor and HoD of English, NMKRV College, Bengaluru and Bhavana Ramanna, former Chairperson, Bal Bhavan, Karnataka and cine actress, will be the guests of honour.
Key figures in the Conference are Prof. Chamanlal, Prof. Gajendra Pathak, Prof. Preethi Sagar, Prof. N.S. Raghunath and Prof. Lakshminarayan Aurora. The Conference will include a Plenary Session, Paper Presentation Sessions and a Book Exhibition.
The Conference is aimed at knowing the current status, practices and researches on LAC in Multilinguistic context with special focus on: • the importance of Language Education, its theoretical development and practices • the importance on Language Education in Multilinguistic context • the new ideas and innovations in LAC for better implementation and Policy making for school education.
There will be paper presentations from Teachers, Teacher Educators, Researchers and Academicians from Teacher Training Institutes, Colleges and Universities.
Valedictory
Prof. Chamanlal, Professor and former HoD, CIL, SLL & CS Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, will delivery valedictory address at 4 pm on Jan.31.
Prof. Y. Sreekanth, Principal, RIE, Mysuru, will preside over both inaugural and valedictory.
