Three-day Purandara Darshana from this evening

Mysuru: After a gap of eight months, Parampare, a leading cultural organisation of Mysuru, has organised Purandara Darshana, a unique programme presenting the life, philosophy and social reforms of Purandara Dasa on Feb. 1,  2 and 3 at Nadabrahma Hall on JLB Road in city, everyday from 6 pm to 8 pm.

Purandara Dasa has been accepted as Pitamaha of Karnatak music. He is a composer of many kirtanas of bhakti pantha. An effort is made here to explain the sahitya and meaning  of his kirtanas.

Leading musicians of Mysuru Vidushi Dr. R.N. Srilatha, Vidushi  Dr. Sukanya Prabhakar, Vidushi Koviladi Kala, Vidwan Ra. Sa. Nandakumar, Vidwan N. Srinath, Vidushi G. Pushpalatha, Vidushi Sunanda Dileep, Vidushi Dharitri Ananda Rao and Vidushi Sujala Gore will be presenting Purandara Kriti Gayana through their young students.

On Feb.3,  Purandara kritis will be presented through dance by students of Vidushi Kripa Phadke. About 60 young artistes will participate.

The concept, sahitya and presentation of the programme is by senior Haridasa Sahitya Scholar Dr. T. N. Nagaratna. The programme is being presented on three days as Purandara Dasara (1) Jeevana – sadhane – sakshatkara, ( 2) Samajika Chintanegalu and (3)Tatva Sandesha. For details contact P.
