Mysuru: Adding to the list of suicides that were reported in the last 24 hours, Police have fished out a body from a lake this morning amidst growing suspicion that three of a family had committed suicide by jumping into a lake on Uttanahalli Road. However, the Police are yet to confirm about the other family members.
The body that was fished out from Parashunayakana Lake located on Uttanahalli Road at the foot of Chamundi Hill belonged to one Ganesh (25). He is said to be an employee of APMC Yard and a resident of Kailaspuram.
The Police Control Room received a call this morning from an unidentified person who said that a man and a woman along with a child had jumped into the Parashunayakana Lake, leaving behind their two-wheeler. Soon, the message was passed on to Mysuru South Police. A team from South Police rushed to the spot but realised that the case had to be investigated by Krishnaraja Police as it fell under their jurisdiction.
Soon, K.R. Police Inspector and staff rushed to the spot and launched an operation to fish out the bodies. But till around 1 pm, they could only fish out Ganesh’s body. They, however, did not find any two-wheeler at the spot as reported by the control room caller. Not taking any chances, the Police are searching the lake with the help of boats. Further details are awaited.
