Mandya: After the accident between a KSRTC electric bus and a plywood laden Bolero vehicle resulting in the death of the bus conductor and 22 people sustaining injuries on June 28, two more separate accidents took place on the Expressway, claiming the lives of three people including a couple.
In the first accident, a couple were killed when the scooter on which they were travelling rammed into a parked truck from behind near Kempnahalli Gate close to Bidadi on Wednesday night.
The deceased have been identified as Sanaulla Baig (65) and his wife Noor Jahan, residents of Bapujinagar in Bengaluru.
The couple, who had come to Ramanagara to attend a programme, was returning to Bengaluru, when Sanaulla, who was riding the scooter rammed into an under-repair truck, which was parked on the roadside resulting in the death of the couple.
It is learnt that the truck had no reflectors and Sanaulla, who did not see the parked truck, rammed into it. A case has been registered at Bidadi Police Station.
In the second incident, a man from Kerala was killed while his father sustained injuries when a truck collided with a Bolero vehicle near Mandya on the Expressway yesterday.
The deceased has been identified as M.V. Jareen and the injured is Verghese. They were proceeding to Kerala from Bengaluru in their Bolero vehicle, when the speeding truck collided with their vehicle from behind. The impact was such that the Bolero vehicle rammed into the road divider killing Jareen and injuring Verghese seriously. Mandya Rural Police have registered a case.
