Three minors among six held for lifting two-wheelers

Mysore/Mysuru: In separate cases, V.V. Puram Police have arrested three youths and have taken three minor boys into custody on charges of lifting two-wheelers in city.

The arrested youths are 22-year-old Manu of Masanapura village in Chamarajanagar district, 20-year-old Shamanth of Kaikeri village, and 19-year-old K.J. Girish of Shettigeri village, both in Virajpet taluk, Kodagu. 

The Police have recovered nine two-wheelers worth about Rs. 5.32 lakh from them. Legal action has been initiated against the three minors for their involvement in the crime.

In the first case, the Police, who were on their regular beat, found accused Manu and three minor boys proceeding on two bikes near the ESI Hospital on KRS Road and stopped them during which the accused and the boys tried to escape but were caught by the Cops.

As they behaved in a suspicious manner, they were brought to the Police Station and questioned during which the crime came to light.

In the second case, the Police, who were investigating a vehicle theft case, arrested Shamath and K.J. Girish on July 25 for enquiry.

During interrogation, the accused are said to have confessed of lifting two-wheelers in Alanahalli, V.V. Puram, Vijayanagar, Kuvempunagar and Metagalli Police limits, according to the Police.

DCP (Crime and Traffic) M.S. Geetha Prasanna and NR Sub-Division ACP M. Shivashankar guided V.V. Puram Inspector R. Venkatesh, Sub-Inspectors K. Lepaksha and Radha M. Jyothsnaraj and staff Prasanna, Venkatesh, Eeranna, Parashurama, B.K. Ravi, Mahesh, Chandra and Suresh in the nabbing and recovery operation.
