Mysuru: The City Crime Branch (CCB) Police on May 6, have arrested three persons including a woman on charges of barging into a beauty parlour on May 1 and making away with a gold chain and the cash purse of the beauty parlour owner.
The arrested have been identified as 29-year-old Arun and 25-year-old Rangaswamy of Gayathripuram and 29-year-old Pavithra of Belavatta in city.
The incident took place at Rishika Beauty Parlour on Maharshi School Road in Vidyaranyapuram Police limits. One of the accused Pavithra, who is known to the parlour owner, came to the parlour, found out that the owner was alone and informed the same to her accomplices Arun and Rangaswamy, who then barged into the beauty parlour, kicked the chair on which the owner was sitting to make her fall down, snatched her gold chain and the cash purse and fled in an autorickshaw, which was waiting outside.
Following the incident, the owner of the beauty parlour had lodged a complaint with Vidyaranyapuram Police which was transferred to the City Crime Branch. The CCB Police, who took up the case, arrested the three accused on May 6 and based on the information provided by the accused, the CCB Police recovered the gold chain weighing about 50 grams and worth about Rs.1.5 lakh besides recovering Rs.1,530 cash from them. The Police have also seized the autorickshaw used for the crime.
DCP Mahaninga B. Nandaganvi and CCB ACP B.R. Lingappa supervised CCB Inspectors Shivaswamy and Shivaprakash, ASIs Chandregowda and Alexander and staff Chikkanna, Ramaswamy, Lakshmikanth, Chamundamma and others in the nabbing and recovery operation.
