Tibetan women observe 59th Uprising Day in city

Mysuru: Hundreds of members of Regional Tibetan Women’s Association took out a peaceful procession in city on Mar.12 to protest against the Chinese aggression on Tibet and the atrocities committed by them on the Tibetans. They also observed the 59th Uprising Day on the same day.

The protest march began from Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple at the North Gate of the Mysore Palace and the women, holding placards marched past Dodda Gadiyara, Gandhi Square, Chikka Gadiyara, Devaraja Urs Road, JLB Road, Metropole Circle, Hunsur Road and reached the DC Office where they staged a dharna for some time.

The protesters urged that the proposal of Dalai Lama to China regarding the status of Tibet should be fulfilled, hold dialogue with Central Tibet Administration, Panchen Lama and other political prisoners must be released, should respect Tibetan language and the rights of the Tibetans and to stop atrocities against Tibetans by the Chinese.

Tibetan Women’s Association President Tenzin Dolma led      the protest.
