The carcass of an adult tiger aged between seven and eight years was found in Kabini backwaters near Karapura this morning. Conservator of Forests (CF) Ravishankar, veterinarians and forest staff visited the spot this noon. The officials have suspected that the tiger may have died about 24 to 27 hours ago as the carcass was bloated. It is learnt that a tiger was seen prowling in the backwaters since two days and the villagers had informed the Forest officials who got ready to conduct an operation today and while patrolling the area this morning, the forest staff have found the carcass. The officials said that the exact cause for the tiger’s death would be known only after the post-mortem is conducted which will take place later in the day today.
