Mysuru: With the protests in Tamil Nadu escalating over the Cauvery water issue, there were fears that the bus services from Mysuru to different parts of Tamil Nadu would be affected. However, till yesterday the inter-State buses from both sides are plying regularly without any disruption in service.
The buses to Chennai, Ooty, Coimbatore, Salem, Madurai and many other parts are plying on both sides and even today there is no disruption in services.
Meanwhile, there would be a Tamil Nadu bandh tomorrow (April 5). The state-wide bandh call was made in a bid to step up pressure on the Centre to set up the Cauvery Management Board.
KSRTC officials speaking to Star of Mysore said that they are in touch with their counterparts in Tamil Nadu and if there is any serious problem then the bus services would be suspended tomorrow.
“The Karnataka buses going to Tamil Nadu will be given protection at their bus depots and likewise the buses from Tamil Nadu will be given protection in the bus depots here, in case of disruption in bus services on either side,” said the official.
